First Communion Update November 4, 2026
Good morning, parents,
My apologies—Queen of Heaven and St. Dominic’s were accidentally switched in the First Communion schedule I just sent.
The correct dates are:
- Queen of Heaven: April 11 at 2 p.m.
- St. Dominic’s: April 4 at 2 p.m.
All other school assignments and dates remain unchanged.
I’m truly sorry for any confusion, and thank you for your understanding.

I’m writing to share a few updates as we continue preparing for your child’s First Communion.
HOPESTONE LOGINS
Hopestone logins have begun going out. Some of you have let us know that you haven’t received communication from Hopestone yet. If you’re still waiting, please allow us a few more days as we work with Hopestone to get these to you. Thank you for your patience, and please accept our apologies for the delay.
RETREAT, RECONCILIATION AND FIRST COMMUNION DATES
At our kickoff, we shared that we would be assigning dates by school, including St. Edmund’s, St. James, St. Timothy and our other neighbouring schools. The dates are now finalized below.
RETREAT 1
Retreat 1A: January 23 at 10 a.m.
Assigned school: Queen of Heaven
Retreat 1B: January 23 at 1 p.m.
Assigned school: St. Edmund’s
Retreat 1C: January 30 at 10 a.m.
Assigned school: St. Dominic’s
Retreat 1D: January 30 at 1 p.m.
Assigned schools: St. James, St. Timothy and all other schools
RECONCILIATION
February 6 — all candidates will attend a five-minute appointment booked through Eventbrite. The booking link will be shared around mid-January.

IF YOU HAVE A SCHEDULING CONFLICT
If your child’s assigned retreat date does not work for your family, please email me to arrange attendance at an alternate retreat. If you are unavailable for Reconciliation on February 6, I can also provide an alternate date for your child.
We encourage children to attend with their classmates whenever possible, but we understand that family schedules can be busy and timing conflicts arise.
If your assigned First Communion date does not work for your family, please wait until mid-February, when the Mass selection form will be sent out. You will then have the opportunity to select your preferred Mass which we are absolutely able to accomodate.

Good Afternoon Dear Parents and Guardians,
If you are receiving this email, congratulations!!! We have received your child's registration for our 2026-27 Communion cohort at St. Dominic's in good order :)
We have shared your email with our partners at Hopestone and you should be receiving login information over the next 5 days. If you do not receive instructions from Hopestone by November 2nd, please reach out to me and we will be happy to assist.
As you may recall, we did not assign communion / retreat dates for schools outside of St. Dominic's / Queen of Heaven. We are in the process of balancing the recipients across our 3 dates and will share an update shortly based on the number of registrants.
