2023-2024 First Communion and First Reconciliation Registration is NOW CLOSED


St. Dominic’s Parish

  • Thursday, November 24, 2023 is the deadline for providing a copy of your child’s Baptismal Certificate.  A copy can be dropped off at the church or parents can send a scan of the baptismal certificate to:  catechist.stdominic@gmail.com
  • Parents will be given two books to use with their children – We Share in the Eucharistand We Prepare for Reconciliation. Parents will work through these resources with their child at home, in addition to attending the meetings at the parish.

  • First Reconciliation will be celebrated on Saturday, November 25, 2023 between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm by appointment.

  • First Communions will be celebrated during the 2024 Easter Season with a dedicated Mass for First Communion Families on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at 2:00 pm. Celebrating during the Saturday night and Sunday morning regularly scheduled Masses are also possible the weekend of April 20-21, 2024.

It is important for parents and children to attend Mass on the weekends.  Our Mass times are 5 pm Saturday evening and Sunday mornings at 9:30 am and 11:30 am.  Regular Mass attendance gives your child a richer understanding of why we participate in the Eucharist each week as Catholics. 

The Parish Team wishes to thank the school principals and teachers for their assistance in sharing this information with the families who have children in Grade Two (age 7 or older).  We are aware that some children in higher grades may have missed the opportunity to prepare for Reconciliation and First Holy Communion and this program is meant to include them as well.
